The 27th National Intercollegiate HCA Game – A Celebration of Unity and Sportsmanship
From May 17 to 18, 2025, the 27th National Intercollegiate Healthcare Administration (HCA) Game took place at the covered sports courts of Kaohsiung Medical University and Fucheng. Hosted by the Department of Healthcare Administration at Kaohsiung Medical University, this year's event may not have featured an opening ceremony, but it certainly did not lack in spirit. Teams from across Taiwan brought boundless enthusiasm, filling the courts with a vibrant atmosphere of unity, passion, and perseverance. Over two days of exciting competitions, the students showcased their energy and dedication.
This year’s competition saw participation from 11 universities, 12 departments, and 25 teams, including Chang Gung University, Taipei Medical University, Kaohsiung Medical University, Chung Shan Medical University, National Taipei University of Nursing and Health Sciences, Asia University, Fooyin University, Ming Chuan University, I-Shou University, Tzu Chi University, and Chang Jung Christian University. Players from different schools gathered to compete and connect, strengthening bonds through both athletic contests and off-court camaraderie. The event reflected the spirit of healthcare administration students — “Friendship First, Competition Second” — as well as the sportsmanship ideal of “striving with respect and humility.”
The HCA Game featured two sports: basketball and volleyball.
In Men’s Volleyball, the Department of Healthcare Administration at Chang Jung Christian University claimed the championship, with Chung Shan Medical University Department of Health Industry Technology Management and Department of Medical Informatics taking second and third place, respectively.
In Men’s Basketball, Taipei Medical University Department of Healthcare Administration won first place, followed by Fooyin University Department of Health Business Administration and Chung Shan Medical University Department of Medical Informatics.
In Women’s Volleyball, the Department of Healthcare Administration at Chang Gung University took home the championship, with I-Shou University and Chung Shan Medical University Department of Health Industry Technology Management earning second and third place.
Throughout the tournament, players gave their all — whether it was fast-break three-pointers on the basketball court or powerful spikes and blocks in volleyball, each highlight drew enthusiastic applause and cheers from the audience. Beyond the competition itself, the HCA Game served as a valuable platform for student interaction and connection. On the court, teams built synergy; off the court, they encouraged each other, creating lasting memories unique to the healthcare administration community.
To honor outstanding performances, the top three teams in each category received trophies and commemorative game balls, recognizing their hard work and perseverance. Special thanks go to Kaohsiung Medical University for its full support in providing excellent venues and logistical resources, and to the dedicated staff and volunteers whose efforts ensured a smooth and enjoyable experience for all participants.
As the final whistle blew, the 27th HCA Game came to a successful close. This annual event, cherished by healthcare administration students across Taiwan, was not just a sports competition, but also a treasured memory of youth and camaraderie. We look forward to reuniting again next year to continue this spirit of unity and honor.
