HAMI was established in August 2003, and is one of the few professional medical information management education units in Taiwan.

The department was merged by the graduate program of Health Care Administration and the Department of Medical Information Management on August 2011.

The Department includes 3 programs: undergraduate program, Master program which is divided into 2 groups –"healthcare administration" and "medical informatics", and Healthcare Administration in-service Master program.

Healthcare Administration and medical Informatics is a new integrated science, which use modern computer technology to collect and process health-related information to effectively address patient care, clinical research, medical administration, medical education, and the issues on the long-term care for senior people. The effective health policy can promote a healthy quality of life therefore to extend the life of human.The Department cooperates with 3 school Hospitals to integrate theory and practice so that will be able to make Healthcare management and Medical Informatics more practical.
